  1. I'm with you - but we all know that's a pipe dream. I will say that I'd be very happy if members were going to have only "one" of something . . . . . . I'd like it to be a SCALE. A-Jay

  4. The Italian Secret to a Long Marriage! At St. Peter's Catholic Church, they have weekly husbands marriage seminars. At the session last week, the priest asked Giuseppe, who said he was approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes and share some insight into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman all these years. Giuseppe replied to the assembled husbands, 'Wella, I'va tried to treat her nice, spenda da money on her, but besta of all is, I tooka her to Italy for the 25th anniversary!' The priest responded, 'Giuseppe, you are an amazing inspiration to all the husbands here! Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for your 50thanniversary?' Giuseppe proudly replied, " I gonna go pick her up." The Enda

  7. These little trout are the best for growing big bass. When the DFG is stocking the bigger trout, the bass have to grow big enough to start eating them. Now with these little trout, even the small bass can start eating them and get a jump on growing fast in their early years. In other words with big trout a 5 pound bass might be 4 years old. Now a 5 pounder might only be 2 or 3 years old. Plus if the lakes stock trout from any other source besides the dfg they will be bigger trout. The best would be a mix of trout from 1/4 to 2 pounds. But I think the smaller ones are better then the bigger ones but we will have to see.

  11. You decide to respond or not. The "best" anything question is always going to be subjective based solely on the responders experience. Folks that live in the frozen north get cabin fervor and tend to post question out of boredom. Those of us who live where cold is 50 degrees don't understand cabin fervor, so be understanding to those frozen folks until the ice melts. Tom

  15. I'm so glad that all's going well for you , Bill. This is indeed a blessed season for a lot of us here. I take time to be thankful for each day and all the great folks that have supported us through these tough times. They truly are gifts........ My "port" was removed yesterday morning while I was totally awake. I was listening to the surgeon and the operating room staff discussing vacations in Belize and Costa Rica. As he was working on me I was just listening and trying not to move too much as he pushed, pulled and pressed my chest. All was going as well as could be expected, "I guess".............when all of a sudden, during mid sentence, I heard him quietly mutter....."Oh ****"......I told him I'd heard that and it wasn't what I wanted to hear! It turned out to be nothing more that a dropped suture. We all had a good laugh over that. Have a great Holiday season ,everyone. To all our Jewish friends, Happy Hanukkah. Let's all make the very most of the upcoming New Year.

  20. You're welcome! This past year, I've caught fish on all of that. The Angler Ambush is poured by a local guy. That red worm has served me good this summer. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

  23. Ted Williams 400 - 1959: I still take it out about once a year - catch a fish with it on its 60s-vintage solid-glass rod, then put it back on the rack. It still works, catches fish - usually about the same size bass as I caught with it when it was new...

  24. I fish the 3/8 oz and the 1/2 baits routinely and my recommendation from the Denali rod line is the Denali Rosewood Cast Rod 6'10" Med Hvy - R823SB.Spinnerbait - These baits are fairly easy for the bass to throw - a slightly softer action (not quite crankbait soft) helps keep them buttoned up. 26. I've seen guys around here do it, and it's just insane to me. Either they have way way more money than I think they do, or a bad case of "keeping up with the Jones's" syndrome. To me a boat is a toy, and unless I am making money with it, I will try to do the best I can with the least amount of financial burden to me and my family, if that means a rubber inner tube, so be it..........lucky for me I can afford slightly better. LMAO

  35. I would love to get one every 4-5 years. Boats have out priced the working man in my opinion. I have a 2002 19' with a 200hp. I gave around $30K new. This boat now is up near and with a 225hp over $50K. I can't do that. Even if the payment was affordable, I can't let myself pay $50K or more for a fishing boat. Won't do it. I look at them all the time, kinda like a wish book like when I was a kid. Only in my dreams will have a new Z520C Ranger.

  36. I use 20-25lb copolymer for both those baits. A hard cast and backlash with either of those baits (assuming you're talking about swimbaits like a 6" Hudd), will most likely result in a lost bait if you fish braid.

  37. No offense, but I believe your attitude towards this to be part of the problem. Acceptance of someone ignoring etiquette, be it in fishing or in everyday life, compounds the problem. Being defensive is nothing more than a passive-aggressive response, trying to get your way without addressing the real problem. While I personally would never throw a 2 oz. weight at someone else's boat, I also won't let an offender get away with his actions without addressing it. I refuse to sit there and be a victim, the long term solution is to call out the person on their actions with the hope that the confrontation deters them from doing it to someone else in the future. I can be cordial and address their actions as the problem (as opposed to they being the problem), most people still have some sense of decorum buried deep beneath their ignorant exteriors. They may leave me muttering curse words about my mother, but I have faith that the message will eventually sink in & they will change their behavior.

  41. Rather leave em the way they came or very slightly modified. Unless I know the guard is impeding the hook set I'll leave it alone. If you go too short they get too stiff and tend to make good hook sets even harder. Too thin and you'll start getting snags enough to reduce your time efficiency and even losing more jigs.

  48. Ive been using the Champ 805CBRM for the 10XD (hate the bait as it pulls like an anchor) , prefer the New DUO 20A as it casts further and dives deeper.. The 806 would be better as it will have a tad more power and you wont be fighting the bait as much..
