  4. Yes I can I just moved recently to Southern California and when I find the Photo albums I will scan them in. This was the days before dorpbox and cell phones. We had to go buy a cheap disposable camera that day, never expected to have a day like we did. My Partner that day Doug Webster ended up catching 3 bronze beauties a 5.5 lbs a 6.3 lbs. and a 7.1 lbs on 5 drifts down a point. I was busy netting his fish and looked up and my float was gone ran to the front of the boat and it was on. that was the only one I caught. But I'm not complaining. 1/16 oz. hair and maylar jig 22' under a clip on egg shaped float 9 1/2' custom rod 8 lb Bagleys silver thread line

  6. LOL ~ Jeff, you're always so complimentary Admittedly it could seem that way, but the Harder I work, the "Luckier" I get. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. A-Jay

  7. Never having fished with the man, I know you do no understand this, but, A-Jay has a horseshoe stuck so far up where the sun don't shine it is ridiculous. He could catch the biggest fish in a rain puddle in a parking lot of a Walmart, if there was a bet or anything else on the line! Jeff

  11. Musky fisherman often soak a sucker behind the boat will they cast a second rod with artificial baits. Very doable for bass. I personally either fish artificialls 99% of the time or all live bait 1% if the time.

  12. When tackle tour did the review of the skeet reel they mention looking at his rig and seeing the exact rods and reels available for sale. Guys in my club have marshaled for Edwin Evers and they both said he had all pro qualifiers and carbonlite rods on his deck. I think when it comes to rods and reels, they use what they are paid to use. Skeet rods may not be the best but they are more than adequate considering he will get new ones at the drop of a hat should they break. Same with the reels. Lures are a different story IMO. They will use anything that works

  14. To me its all about having fun, and relaxation. Fishing is a stress releaver, and a way to be out there with mother nature. There is no place I would rather be, then on the water on a early morning, as the sun comes up, with a good friend, and a tug on the line. I doesnt get any better then that!!!!!

  17. Al Lindner is the best freshwater angler out there. As far as bass goes, Clunn is the Michael Jordan of bass fishing while KVD is the Lebron James. Clunn is the greatest ever, KVD is the best currently.

  18. For me, it seems that every summer a different lure or presentation seems to stay hot. Last year it was deep cranks fished shallow. This year, it's been shallow cranks fished deep. I can only recall a couple of years in a row when the same lure/presentation was the hot one. What has it been on your favorite lake?

  19. Brent Chapman won AOY in 2012 using Skeet's rods... you don't need a G Loomis or Megabass rod to win. Although, it can be more fun fishing with high end gear

  23. I would also fish a jig or flip a tube. If it's got grass don't forget a punch jig with a rage craw or the DB Craw. This has been my biggest bass producer this year on the local city park lakes which are heavily fished hard. But I would switch it up. If you're used to fishing senkos and finese options, go power fishing. I see everyone fishing senkos and drop shots, yet I manage to produce with a 3/4oz punch jig and straight braid fished in the grass as well as a few stray sight fish that happen to attack the jig when it hits the water. I'd say it's a 70/30 on those...IE I catch 30% of them. Think outside the box and try something new. If you're gonna fish a jig, leave everything else at home and only bring a few jigs and trailers as so you can't fall back and are forced to fish them. A swim jig may also be an option since you said the primary forage is bluegill.

  24. In my opinion this is something only you can answer. I guess it depends on what you're planning to use the reel for, some guys (myself included) love the 50 size for almost everything whereas others only find it suitable for "finesse type" fishing. I fall into the camp that likes the 50's for multiple techniques, especially when pared with braid.

  27. They play in Houston this year and at Lambeau next year. LSU fans are excited about going to Lambeau. Lambeau will never be the same after the LSU gang leaves.

  28. Also there is very little difference between the Chronarch E and the Curado E. I wouldn't personally describe the Chronarch as an "up scale" version, especially in the 50 size. Fantastic reels just not that much different from the Curado E.

  31. Zip Lock Bags in different sizes. They'll save your I-phone, the contents of your wallet, even your biodegradable toilet tissue. The're not just for sandwiches Leroy. If it's a fishing trip, learn how to use the hook removal tactic and keep a loop of 60# braid or equivelent in your first aid kit. An extra pair of sunglasses or saftey glasses for use when fishing whether it's sunny or cloudy. A good set of 12ft. jumper cables. Keep 'em in your car year round and take them with you in your boat every time out, or get a set for the boat too. A tube of silicone for repairs to anything from your luggage to your boat's cover. Curing time is a little slow, but the repairs are waterproof and coating wire connections will keep them from corroding. Gorilla Glue will handle most things it won't.

  35. Dont forget a couple of hours right before sun light .... That pond is screaming for a senko to skip into tight spots . Sometimes subtle presentations win vs making a lot of movement and disturbance .

  38. Not every time, I wish it was every time. 5 lber is a big bass where I fish in Maine or New England. Takes a lot of time on the water to figure out where the biggest fish in a lake hang out. Once you get that figured out you catch them a bit more often.

  41. If cameras, bump boards, and identifier are standard and supplied tournament day, I'll play, but not for any substantial $$$. Points, sure. I wonder when the big series will weigh the fish in water, or start using displacement as a measure of size.

  45. 1) With the hook in the gullet, note which side of the fish's mouth the hook shank is toward. Note: For illustration sake, the line is eliminated here in steps 2 through 5. In reality, the line stays connected as this technique is performed. (2) With a finger or two, reach in through the last gill arch on that side of the fish and push and pull down on the hookeye so the hook turns and . . . (3) rolls out below the gill toward the side of the fish. At that point, amazingly, the hook, barb and all, almost always pops free from its hold in the fish's gullet. (4) Reach into the fish's mouth and grip the bend in the hook (which is now up) and . . . (5) lift it free. If the fish's mouth is too small to reach in with your hand, use a needle-nose pliers to grip the hook bend. What needs to be emphasized is how resilient a fish's gills actually are -- far from being the fragile organs often suggest by some sources. And the occasional bleeding fish? Does it have to be kept? Just get the fish back into the water as soon as possible and, more often than not, the bleeding stops. The technique also works superbly on walleyes, smallmouths, and other fish, usually taken on smaller hooks, often salmon-style hooks.
